"The Federation has had to deal with people not from our universe before. Like I said, it's not going to be easy to creatively explain how you and yours came to be in our galaxy and time, but it won't be impossible."

Knowing there's something he can do. Knowing he can make a difference here. It's helping the tremble leave his hands. Straightening his posture. He feels more like himself as he sits next to Adia and sets his cup of coffee on the table.

"We'll help you get through this, Adia. All of you."

It's hard not to believe in Jim when he sounds so sure of himself. In the moment, it's nearly impossible to think he's as run down and ragged as he is. This sort of problem is one he's more capable of dealing with. He knows Spock is already mentally preparing logs and trying to consider which forms they will need to send in.
