The politics of mages and the knowledge they covet and barter in is still such a new concept to Jim. He has to check himself from just launching right into what he's seen about Stratos' research or the little he knows about his new Father in law. The captain's so very excited to have multiple sources to observe and study now and he does trust Isidor. The only thing that stays his tongue is the knowledge that he's very much still an outsider looking in even after all this time. He hasn't seen enough to definitively say anything for sure yet.

Being laughably wrong about something that might be very simple to a mage risks far too much of Jim's pride for him to handle. It won't snuff out the mischievous twinkle in his eye though.

"I'm...just now learning about those, myself. Having actual magical alliances I'm sworn to honor as though they were my own, I mean. Though Nirn's politics aren't quite the same, obviously." They wouldn't try to stop him from continuing his own research, Jim thinks. Hopes, really. For all the joy and honor joining the Caelus family has brought this captain from another realm Jim's only just now beginning to realize there are expectations he'll need to talk to Felix about observing.

"...You could help me study and get input on the research first hand?" They make the time to vent stress, Jim's more than willing to make time to let Isidor indulge in a different hobby. Especially one that might further his own research. "And before you ask--not in space. I've got a house on Earth. It's trickier to arrange time there unseen, but not...impossible." Jim would love to say nothing's impossible for him but he's been put in his place enough to check That hubris at the door.
