Sturdy oaken longtables have been arranged along the back of the party area laden with all manner of food and drink. Succulent roasts stand beside vegetarian curries. The homey smell of fresh-baked bread fills the air.Opposite to the savory selection the far end of the table overflows with sweets from both Nirn and Earth. Warm honey cakes with still unset glazes sit side by side with little fruit tarts stacked artfully for ease of selection. Three or four members of the staff of the Crossroads can be identified by their red aprons while they work dutifully to replace empty trays. Their proprietor hasn’t looked up from the ceramic oven he’s been parked in front of while he unloads fresh loaves of bread (and more honey cakes, of course) to be sent out to the tables. He’ll offer a conspiratorial smile to anyone who asks for a recipe but anyone expecting to stand by and chat with Katsuya should be expected to get roped into helping at least a little. Anyone looking for a hard drink will have to turn to the open bar, as all he’s brought from the cafe are large carafes of freshly brewed coffee.
